Dust Mites are reported as one of the prevalent indoor allergens and can cause skin irritation, exacerbated asthmatic issues, respiratory issues, headaches and other symptoms. Dust mites are tiny cream-colored insects that are invisible to the naked eye and they feed on human skin flakes and make their homes in mattresses, pillows, carpets, upholstered furniture, sheets & comforters, clothes, stuffed toys, and other fabric-covered items. Because these organisms are microscopic, it's often difficult to determine whether your allergy and/or asthma symptoms are actually caused by dust mites. The only way to pinpoint the source of the problem is through testing your home for dust mites.
The
Dust Mite Screen Check provides the entire tool necessary for collecting a solid dust sample from the carpet of a home or workplace. The Dust Mite Screen Check uses a cone shaped filter device called the Bio-Scan DM (or Dust Sock), which is to be connected to the intake end of your vacuum cleaners hose for sampling.
Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory (EDLab) will provide a final report included in the cost of the Dust Mite Screen Check. Concentration levels of dermatophagoides Mite Allergen are reported in micrograms, and are compared to what is considered to be normal.
Once EDLab receives the Bio-Scan DM for analysis, your lab report will be generated and emailed within 3-5 business days.
